Phil drives Harmonic’s vision. He has a passion for the innovation cycle, solving industry problems and the direct economic benefits that accrue from that. Phil works with industry, government and research partners to develop business opportunities, and to commercialise projects.

 

Phil has extensive global experience in the application of Information Communications Technology (ICT) initiatives. During his Telecommunications career Phil has held senior management positions in organisations across New Zealand, Asia, the U.S.A and Europe. Through this experience he has honed his strategic thinking, practical management and people skills. Phil has the ability to quickly get to the essence of an issue, sifting through the technical jargon to recognise innovative solutions that will work for clients.

Phil enjoys managing team players, fostering a collaborative spirit, and creating new ideas and opportunities to lift Harmonic’s collective game to unexpected heights.  
 

Before joining Harmonic in 2003, Phil managed the International Development Programme at Ericsson Synergy. At Harmonic he has helped secure significant levels of industry funding for several related research initiatives across seven universities. He has also supported NZ government agencies, NZTE, MED, MFAT, MoRST, and FRST in various capacities. Phil has a bachelor of Business Studies, from Massey University.

In his spare time, Phil likes to talk economics and enjoys history, music, running, cinema and playing with the kids.
