Harmonic Accurately Predicted Rugby World Cup Results

Now the 2011 Rugby World cup is won, data analytics consultancy Harmonic, can now reveal their statistics team accurately predicted the outcome of the pool matches using a sound statistics team approach – in February 2010. This exercise was done voluntarily for the RWC2011 Management Team, to illustrate the possibilities provided by statistics to address a range of planning challenges.

Phil Shepherd and Dr. Murray Milner presented on 'Asset Management Analytics' and the Telecom NZ Case Study to the IBM Maximo Users Group Conference, Massey University on Friday 18 November.
Harmonic CEO, Phil Shepherd and CTO, Peter Chapell were delighted to present with Transpower NZ, at the recent Alstom Asia-Pacific Users Group Conference in Adelaide, Australia. The presentation on the SCADA Performance and Capacity Planning tool, developed for Transpower NZ was well received.
Software tool brings quicker power fixes

Consumers can expect faster fixes of power outages on the national grid after Transpower purchased analytics software from Wellington firm Harmonic. Transpower spokeswoman Rebecca Wilson said the software tool would analyse performance information supplied by its substations, monitor its communication network and help it to speed up the delivery of information.
