R - The Icing on the Cake for Advanced Analytics specialist, Harmonic
22 March 2012

Local advanced analytics company, Harmonic, is supporting a growing trend for businesses seeking to gain insight from increasing volumes of complex organisational data. This trend is often labelled ‘Big Data’ internationally and chatter on the topic is reaching a point of crescendo. Of particular interest to NZ is the associated interest in the hugely popular statistical package ‘R’ and it’s role in the emerging Big Data story.

R’ is a New Zealand developed, open source statistical modelling language. Benefiting from the open source ethos of distribution, ‘R’ popularity has spread like wildfire in recent times, gaining global recognition as a smart tool for advanced data analysis to help solve complex statistical challenges.

Harmonic’s highly qualified team of statisticians are all experts in ‘R’. They use it for data mining, operations research and the development of statistical and predictive models for data intensive clients such as Telecom, Beef and Lamb and Transpower NZ. Harmonic uses ‘R’  to provide concise and reliable decision making information.
